This website (the "Leaderboard") is operated by Surphmore Consulting, a North Carolina limited liability company based in Cornelius, NC ("Surphmore," "we," "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms.

1. What this site is

The Leaderboard publishes scores, grades, and observations about the public digital presence of local businesses. Everything on it is provided for general informational purposes only. The scores and grades are Surphmore's opinion, computed by an automated pipeline from publicly observable signals as of the scan date printed on each scorecard, using the method disclosed on the How we score page. A score is not a statement about the quality of a business, its products, its services, or its people. Different methods would produce different numbers.

2. Material connection, disclosed

Surphmore sells websites, SEO, review, and Google Business Profile services, the same kinds of services that can improve the signals this board measures. That connection is disclosed on the board itself. Scores are never for sale, are computed identically for everyone, and are not affected by whether a business is a Surphmore client. Surphmore is listed on the board and scored by the identical pipeline.

3. No affiliation or endorsement

The businesses listed are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Surphmore, and their appearance here does not imply that they participate in, approve of, or are aware of the Leaderboard. Business names are used only to identify the business being discussed. All trademarks belong to their owners.

4. Accuracy, dates, and corrections

We work hard to keep every underlying observation true, dated, and checkable, and the methodology explains what "not found in scan" does and does not mean. Automated scans can still miss things and third-party sources can be wrong or stale, so we do not guarantee that any information is complete, current, or error-free. If you believe something is inaccurate, use the correction panel on the scorecard or email hello@surphmore.com. We review correction reports within 5 business days, fix what we got wrong, honor re-check requests, and honor requests by a business to be removed from the board.

5. No warranties

The site and its contents are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing on this site is professional advice, and you should not make business, financial, or purchasing decisions based solely on a score.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Surphmore and its members, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the site, and our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100).

7. Acceptable use

You may link to and quote the Leaderboard with attribution. You may not scrape the site at volumes that impair it, misrepresent scores as guarantees or as statements of fact about business quality, use the data to harass any listed business, or imply that Surphmore or the Leaderboard endorses any business.

8. Third-party data

Signals are derived from third-party sources including Google and Foursquare, which own their underlying data. This site publishes Surphmore's derived scores and observations. Third-party sites we link to have their own terms.

9. Changes

We may update the site, the methodology, and these terms. Material methodology changes are reflected on the How we score page, and re-scans update scorecards with a new scan date.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
